Report illegal content

The form follows Art. 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services (DSA). Fill in the exact address of the content and the reasons why you consider it illegal; the clearer the explanation, the faster we can act.

We use the data in the notice only to handle it, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Prefer email? Send the same information to abuse@hoston.ro. For phishing, attach the message you received (as an .eml file or with the full headers).

What happens after a notice

  1. 1Acknowledgement of receiptWe automatically send you an email confirmation with the notice number and its content.
  2. 2ReviewA person from the HostON team reviews the notice without undue delay, objectively and diligently. Phishing, malware and child sexual abuse material take priority.
  3. 3DecisionIf the content is illegal or breaches the Acceptable Use Policy, we remove the content, disable access to it or suspend the service, in proportion to the seriousness.
  4. 4Reply to youWe let you know our decision and the reasons for it, including when we have not acted on the notice.

Rights of the affected client

The client whose content has been restricted receives a statement of reasons (Art. 17 DSA): what measure we took, the facts it is based on, whether it was triggered by a notice, the legal or contractual ground and how to contest it. Complaints are sent to abuse@hoston.ro and are reviewed by a person. The client can also go to court.

The identity of the notifier is not disclosed to the client unless necessary (for example for copyright) and with the notifier’s consent.

Serious criminal offences and authorities

If we become aware of information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of persons, we inform the competent authorities immediately (Art. 18 DSA). Child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 first.

Orders from authorities to act against illegal content or to provide information (Art. 9 and 10 DSA) are sent to abuse@hoston.ro, with the subject “DSA – Autoritate” (DSA – Authority). We confirm receipt and inform the authority of how the order has been carried out.

The exact address (URL) of the content, an explanation of the reasons why you consider it illegal, your name and email address, and a statement that the information is accurate and complete, made in good faith.

For child sexual abuse material, yes: name and email address are optional. For the other categories we need them to confirm receipt and let you know our decision.
