Free migration
We migrate your site ourselves.
Free, for any number of sites.
We move your website, databases and emails from your current provider to HostON servers. Your website stays on the old server until you have checked that everything works on the new one.
What you get
- We migrate any number of sites for free
- Usually within 24–48 hours, usually without interruption
- You check the site on the new server before the DNS change
- You add login details encrypted, in the client area
Applies to web hosting, WordPress, eCommerce, reseller and VPS plans ordered from HostON.
What we migrate for free
We start from a complete copy of the old account and put it on the new server as it is.
- Website files (PHP, HTML, images, themes, modules)
- MySQL / MariaDB databases
- Email accounts and existing messages
- DNS zone: A, MX, TXT, CNAME records
- Redirects and .htaccess settings
- Scheduled tasks (cron)
Free SSL certificates are issued again automatically on the new server. The migration does not include code changes or licences from other providers. If your site needs them, we tell you beforehand.
We move websites built with
- WordPress
- WooCommerce
- PrestaShop
- Joomla
- OpenCart
- Magento
- Drupal
- Laravel
- Static HTML
- and other PHP applications
The migration process
- 1
Choose your plan
Order a hosting plan or a VPS. Not sure which one to pick? We will recommend one that suits your site.
- 2
Send the request
Fill in the form below. Do not put passwords here: you give us the login details separately, on a secure page in your client account.
- 3
We handle the move
We copy the files, databases and emails to the new server. We change nothing on the old server.
- 4
We check together
We give you a temporary address so you can see the site on the new server before we change anything.
- 5
We change the DNS
Once you give us the go-ahead, we change the nameservers or show you step by step how to change them. The change is usually active everywhere within a few hours.

What we need from you
The sooner we have this information, the sooner we can schedule the migration.
The list of domains. All the domains and subdomains that need to be moved.
Access to the old account. Ideally cPanel access; otherwise FTP/SFTP and database access, or a full copy (backup) of the account.
Access to the domain. The account at the domain's registrar, to change the nameservers (or the domain transferred to HostON).
Email accounts. The list of email addresses in use, so that none is missing after the move.
How we work
We work on a copy
The data on the old server stays untouched until you close your account there.
You check beforehand
We change the DNS only after you have seen the website working on the new server.
You can go back
While the old account is active, going back only means restoring the old nameservers.
Passwords, only encrypted
You do not write them in the form or send them by email. You add them on a protected page in the client area; we delete them after 14 days or when the ticket is closed.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions customers ask us most often about this service.
Nothing. Migration is free with web hosting, WordPress, eCommerce and reseller plans and with VPS servers ordered from HostON.
Yes, your site needs somewhere to move to: first you choose a hosting plan or a VPS. If you are not sure which one, send the request with the option "I don't have a plan yet" and we will recommend a suitable one.
Usually not. Your website stays on the old server while we copy the data. After we change the DNS, for a few hours some visitors may still reach the old server while the change propagates; that is why we recommend not changing content during that interval.
We schedule the final move for a period with few orders and synchronise the database again just before the DNS change, so that no orders are lost.
Not through the form and not by email. After you send the request, you get an email with a link to a protected page in the client area. You add the login details there; we store them encrypted and delete them after 14 days or when the ticket is closed. We recommend changing the old account's passwords after the migration.
Yes, email accounts and existing messages, if the old provider allows access to them (for example through a cPanel copy or via IMAP).
Yes. Put a download link for the full copy in the form (for example the full backup from cPanel or an archive with the files and the database). We do not upload files directly to the website, so that there are no size limits.
It is not compulsory. The domain can stay with the current registrar; only the nameservers need to be changed. If you wish, you can transfer it to HostON later.
