Renew your domain before it expires
Domains registered with HostON are renewed from the client area. Below you will find the renewal prices for every extension and what happens if the expiry date passes.
Renewal methods
Domains are renewed from the my.hoston.ro account. You do not need to email us.
From the client area
Go to my.hoston.ro → Domains → My domains, choose the domain and click “Renew”. You choose how many years (up to 10, where the registry allows it) and pay the invoice.
By paying the renewal invoice
Before the expiry date you receive the renewal invoice by email. When you pay it, the domain is renewed automatically with the registry.
Automatic renewal
In the domain details you can leave automatic renewal on or switch it off. While it is on, the invoice is issued automatically before expiry.

The highlighted column is the yearly renewal price. For some extensions the first year is promotional and renewal costs more; check before choosing the extension.

Expiry
What happens if the domain expires
The exact rules (grace periods, redemption fees) differ from one extension to another and are set by each registry. The general steps are these:
Do not wait until the last day: payment and processing at the registry can take time. Renew at least a few days before expiry.

Invoice and email notifications
You receive the renewal invoice and reminder messages at the email address in your client account. Keep the address up to date.
On the expiry date
The domain may stop working
If it has not been renewed, the website and email on the domain may become inaccessible.
After expiry
Recovery period, different for each extension
For a limited period the domain can still be recovered; for some extensions recovery involves an additional registry fee.
At the end
The domain is deleted
If it is not recovered, the registry deletes the domain and it can be registered by anyone.

Renewing a .ro domain costs €8.49 + VAT per year. Renewal prices for the other extensions are in the table on this page.
At any time, as long as the domain is active. The years you pay for are added to the existing expiry date, so you do not lose the remaining days.
For some extensions the registry or the registrar offers a promotional price for the first year. From the second year the normal price applies, the renewal price. That is why we show both prices for every extension.
The website and email addresses on that domain may stop working, even if the hosting is paid for. Renew the domain before it expires to avoid interruption.
It must first be transferred to HostON. For generic extensions the transfer includes a one-year extension; for other extensions, write to us and we will tell you what happens to the expiry date.
