.ro domains
The .ro extension, for the Romanian audience
The .ro extension is managed by RoTLD, part of ICI Bucharest. We register it through our partner registrar, TES Euro Media SRL, and you manage it from the same account where you have your hosting and invoices.
Anyone can register. Individuals and companies, from Romania or abroad; you do not need a company registered in Romania.
Periodic renewal. It renews like any other domain. You see the renewal price above, before you order.
The registrant's details do not appear in the public WHOIS. A RoTLD WHOIS lookup does not show the registrant's name.
Transfer with an authorisation code. To move a .ro from another registrar you need the authorisation code (AuthInfo) received from your current registrar.
Second-level .ro subdomains. Besides .ro you can also register .com.ro, .org.ro, .info.ro or .nom.ro, at the prices in the explorer.

A .ro domain costs €7.99 + VAT in the first year and €8.49 + VAT per year at renewal. Transfer prices and prices for other extensions are in the tables on this page.
Registration is the first-year price for a free domain. Renewal is the price you pay every year after that. Transfer is the price for moving a domain from another registrar. For some extensions the first year is a promotional price, which is why we show all three.
After payment is confirmed, registration is made automatically with the registry, usually within a few minutes. It can take a few hours until the domain responds everywhere on the internet, while the DNS information propagates.
The name of the person or company that will own the domain (the registrant), address, email and phone. You enter them at checkout, in the client area. For companies, the registrant must be the company, not the person placing the order.
Yes. The domain can be ordered separately and you can connect it later to HostON hosting or another provider by changing the nameservers or the DNS records.
Use the free WHOIS tool on hoston.ro. You see the registrar, the registration and expiry dates and the nameservers, to the extent that the registry publishes them. For .ro, RoTLD does not show the registrant in WHOIS.
You pay in lei. On the site, prices are shown in euro by default, excluding VAT (Net); with the Gross switch you see them including 21% VAT. Invoices are issued in lei at the BNR exchange rate.
