GDPR – your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has applied throughout the European Union since 25 May 2018. In Romania it is supplemented by Legea nr. 190/2018 (the Romanian law implementing the GDPR). How HostON actually processes data is described in the Privacy policy.

You can find out whether we process data about you and receive a copy of it: your account data, order and invoice history, tickets, login logs and the emails we have sent you.

You can correct your contact and billing details directly in my.hoston.ro. For data you cannot change yourself (for example the holder of a domain), write to us and we will help you.

You can ask for your data to be erased. We do so, except for data the law requires us to keep (for example invoices, 10 years) or that we need to defend legal claims.

Deleting the account also means ending your active services (hosting, email, VPS). Make a full backup before sending the request.

You can ask us to restrict processing, for example while we verify the accuracy of disputed data or an objection you have raised. Restricted data is only stored, not used.

For the data you have provided to us and that we process on the basis of the contract or of your consent, you can receive a structured export (JSON or CSV). You can download the content of your services (files, databases, emails) yourself at any time from cPanel.

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. An objection to commercial communications takes effect immediately; every such email also contains an unsubscribe link.

We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you, and we do not carry out profiling for marketing purposes. The AI assistant in the chat only answers questions; it does not decide anything in your account.

You can withdraw your consent to statistics cookies in “Cookie settings”, in the page footer. You can withdraw your consent to newsletters through the unsubscribe link or by email. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.

So as not to disclose someone else’s data, we may ask for additional information confirming that the request comes from you, usually that it is sent from the email address in your account. We reply within one month of receipt at most; if the request is complex or there are many requests, the deadline can be extended by two further months, and we will let you know within the first month.

We have not designated a data protection officer (DPO). For any question or request about your data, write to us at info@hoston.ro with the subject “GDPR request”.
