Transfer a domain to HostON
Already have a domain with another registrar? Check it below, prepare the transfer code and start the transfer from the cart. Your website and email keep working during the transfer, as long as you do not change the nameservers.
How the transfer works
A transfer moves the management of the domain (the registrar). It does not move your website or emails; for those, use free migration.

Unlock the domain
At your current registrar, disable the transfer lock (Transfer/Registrar Lock), if there is one, and check that the registrant's email address is correct.

Get the transfer code
Ask your current registrar for the EPP code (Auth Code; for .ro it is called AuthInfo or authorisation code).

Order the transfer
Check the domain above, click “Start transfer” and enter the code in the cart. You pay the transfer price.

Confirm and wait
The registry processes the transfer. If email confirmation is requested, you approve it. At the end the domain appears in your HostON account.
Conditions for transfer
- The domain is active and has not expired (if it expires soon, renew it first or transfer it in good time).
- The transfer lock is disabled at your current registrar.
- You have a valid transfer code (EPP / AuthInfo) for the domain.
- For generic extensions (.com, .net, .org etc.), at least 60 days have passed since registration or since the last transfer (ICANN rule).
- You have access to the registrant's email address, in case the registry requires confirmation of the transfer.
Specific to .ro domains
- Authorisation code (AuthInfo)You receive it from the registrar where the domain currently is. Without it, the transfer cannot be approved by RoTLD.
- The transfer does not change the registrantThe transfer only moves the management of the domain to HostON. Changing the registrant (for example from a person to a company) is a separate RoTLD procedure, with signed documents.
- DNS stays the sameA transfer does not change the nameservers. You only change them if you also want to move your website or email to HostON.

It depends on the extension. For .com, .net and .org the transfer usually completes within 5 to 7 days, or sooner if the old registrar approves it earlier. For .ro and .eu, with a valid authorisation code, it usually takes less.
No, as long as you do not change the nameservers. The transfer only moves the management of the domain; the DNS records stay as they are until you change them.
It is a unique password for the domain, issued by the current registrar, which proves that you have the right to transfer it. You find it in the registrar's control panel or request it from its support, and enter it in the cart when ordering.
For .com, .net, .org, .info and other generic extensions, yes: the transfer adds one year to the existing expiry date. For .ro and other extensions the rules differ from registry to registry. If the expiry date matters to you, write to us beforehand.
As a rule, no. An expired domain must first be renewed with the current registrar. After renewal you can transfer it; for generic extensions, if the transfer takes place immediately after renewal, the year paid to the old registrar may not be added.
Yes. Add each domain to the cart, with its own transfer code. They are paid together, on the same invoice.
